St Malo (above) - ancient town with wide walls. Walk along the ramparts and enjoy the views of the bay. A great day out, is to go to Dinard, a lovely seaside town and take the ferry (10 minutes) to St Malo. There are lots of places to eat in both towns. Enjoy the town walls in St Malo and walk along the headland in Dinard.
Avranches - The old and new town. The Botanical Gardens which has one of the most distinctive views of Mont St Michel. The unique church of Notre Dame de Avranches.
Bayeux - to see the famous tapestry and explore the lovely museums and cathederal. You are only a few minutes from the D-Day landing beaches.
Normandy Landing beaches and history of the allied invasion.
Sandy beaches north of Avranches - Lovely sandy beaches. Carolles, Jullouville and Saint-Pair-sur-mer. About 40 minutes from La Hallotière. North of Avranches.
Granville - old port town, originally connected with pirates. Now you can wander around the museums and gardens or catch a ferry to the Channel Islands or the Isle de Chausey.
